swimming the North PoleFor the first time ever, a man has been able to swim 1km at the North Pole. This has never been done before due to the freezing temperature of the waters. However, with global warming now inceasing the temperature of the oceans, 37 year old Lewis Gordon Pugh took to the challenge at 0200 BST on Sunday to prove how our world is changing.

Pugh, an endurance swimmer with a day job as a Lawyer in the City, claimed that it’s “a tragedy that it’s possible to swim at the North Pole”.
And he didn’t wrap up warm for the feat - he wore simply a pair of Speedos, goggles and a swimming cap.
He described diving into the black hole crack in the ice, inorder to swim to the geographic North Pole, as feeling like his body was on fire. He trained for the event partly by visiting a mind coach to help him prepare for the shock.
