This a completely personal rant, but I find it insane that my local ‘Household Waste Recycling Centre’ has bins for paper, card, cans etc etc - right through to spectacles, mobile phones and ink cartridges - but no where for plastic bags/bin liners!!! And how do you take your recycling to the centre if you don’t have suitably sized boxes?!

If you ask where to recycle them you’re directed to Tesco, at the other end of the town. If it’s really beyond the council to sort this out, would it not be possible for an employee of the centre who shops at Tesco to just put out a bin and take the bags theirself once a week or so? As I can guarantee people who’ve just sorted out their recycling turn and throw their bags into the ‘unrecyclable’ bin when they find there’s no where else for them.
I’m about to contact Somerset County Council and ask if this can be rectified - and I will keep you updated!
