Did you know… that based on the average 2 year lifespan your mobile will produce on average 6kgs of CO2 during manufacturing, and approx 99kgs of CO2 while charging the phone over 2 years! That’s quite a bit of CO2, so the least you can do is recycle your old phone, and possibly even pick up a few quid in the process! There are quite a few companies offering to buy your old phone from you, including envirofone. They are one of the top mobile phone recycling sites in the UK and last year alone paid out over £1.5 million pounds for old phones.

Walking past neighbours bins yesterday I couldn’t help but notice all the packaging from Christmas presents - juice makers and the such that come in big boxes. So if your bin day has been postponed until next week because of Bank Holidays, then you’ve still got time to retrieve all your cardboard from the binliners and head down to your nearest household waste recycling centre.

I know those of us in cities may not have one on our doorstep - or at the other end of the scale those of us out in the sticks may have a trek too - but if you could bring yourself to pop out on Saturday morning you can spend the rest of the weekend feeling happy that you made an effort for the Environment!

What you do leave out for the bin men, put in eco friendly bags - such as these.
