The Most Terrifying Video You'll Ever See

Date Added 1st August 2007

A really interesting film that puts the whole debate on global warming into perspective and presents two choices for mankind, but time is running out. I think he makes a very good argument for positive action to help stop climate change. We can either do nothing and risk everything, or do something and risk spending a little bit of money and feeling silly when it all turns out to be wrong. When the one option is the end of the world, I don't think it's worth taking that risk. See what you think of his argument and let us know on the HotonEarth forum, all opinions are very welcome.

Jill Sobule: A happy song about global warming

Date Added 26th July 2007

Like nearly everyone at TED2006, Jill Sobule was stirred by Al Gore's spectacular speech on the clear and present danger of climate change. The time for action is now, Jill thought. And so she wrote a song. But since everyone else was so down about the impending collapse of ecological systems, which could lead to floods, drought, hurricanes, mosquito overpopulation and species extinction, she decided to write a happy song about global warming. And here it is: Inspired by TED Curator Chris Anderson (who cameos here). Written and performed first at TED. Al Gore loved it, and so will you.

Penguin Push

Date Added 21st July 2007

There's something about penguins that's just hillarious anyway, but this clip cracks me up every time I watch it! Haha. This clip isn't strictly about global warming but I just had to include it anyway. Plus if the polar ice caps melt where are these little guys going to hang out?

Swap a Light ... Save Energy and Money

Date Added 21st July 2007

Being green doesn't have to be expensive or particularly difficult, saving energy also means saving money and who doesn't need to save a little more of that! If you get past the incredibly American'ness in the reporting of the video it does make a decent point about energy saving lightbulbs. Good for the environment and saves you money as well.

Climate Challenge - Greenhouse Effect

Date Added 21st July 2007

Life depends on the warmth of the sun being trapped by a layer of gases that surround the Earth. We now produce so much of these heat trapping gases that the layer is getting thicker, heating the world, changing our climate and threatening our way of life. As the world gets hotter, the climate will change and some of the extreme effects we have witnessed will become more frequent; making our planet a more hostile place to live. If we could see the gases, the causes of the problem would be obvious to everyone and if you could see the effect we are having on our planet you would do something about it. The solutions exist and it is not too late to make a difference, but we have to act now, today. Government, Industry and individuals acting together to tackle the problem. www.climatechallenge.gov.uk

Global Warming & Climate Change - A Short Video, A Global Warning

Date Added 21st July 2007

The Swindle of the Great Global Warming Swindle

The 10 hottest years on record were all in the last 15 years, and arctic ice drilling shows that Co2 levels in the atmosphere are the highest for 650,000 years, yet some people still think this isn't happening. It is, we all know it is, but yet not many of us are doing anything about it. This is why I've made this.

It features Eric Prydz Vs Floyd "Proper Education", the first part of the song with David Gilmour's vocals represent the older generation (or the US), that are turning a blind eye to the problem.. "we don't need no education" or "its not happening its cyclical". The second part of the song featuring the school children singing (or the world outside beyond the US borders) represents the new generation, that don't need educating, its happening, are they are trying to do something about it, for their kids future.

Global Warming: Point of No Return?

Date Added 21st July 2007

James Lovelock says Global Warming is now at point of no return. Other top climate scientists are more hopeful but say we only have less than 10 years before it's irreversible and time is running out. Bush Administrations been accused of asking top climate scientists at NASA to STOP speaking out about the climate crisis and of altering scientific journals reporting on the phenomenon. We all need to speak up NOW or the Human Race will join the MILLIONS of other Species that will be extinct by 2050 from Global Warming. www.climatecrisis.net www.greatemergence.blogspot.com
